Im Rahmen des 10-jährigen Bestehens des NME gewannen My Device den NME Walkman Breaking Bands Award. In der Jury waren u.a. A & R Legende Alan McGee; Forward Russia Gitarrist Whiskas; Bloc Party`s Kele und UK-Chart-Topper Kasabian. Sie haben Geschmack bewiesen, wie man auf dem Debutalbum „Nervous System“ hören kann. Das Trio aus Brighton spielt sehr britischen Rock, der seine Wurzeln im Punk hat. Ich finde dieses Zitat sehr passend für das Album: “You can tell they’re a band who love distortion pedals and bending weird sounds out of their guitars. They’re not a virtuoso band, which is cool, because rock’n’roll shouldn’t be about that, it should be about heart and passion and ideas and romance” - JAMES JAM, NME
