Following a high praise by fans and critics through her live appereances both with her band Sugah Galore and the Cast-a-blast soundsystem, - the one of a kind within Greece - vocalist Sugahspank! breaks through this fall with her debut worldwide full length release The Incredible / The Invisible.

The album features fourteen tracks of a distinct space soul atmosphere, filled with a smokey funk-rock and hip hop mixture produced and arranged by Blend aka Mishkin.

Influences ranging from phycedelic soul (Golden chain, Big jello boy), retro moods (Lost that lovin feeling), 70s heavy guitar punk-rock (Kill the bitch you got in ya), spacey blues (Bad tooth, Dynamite, No roof), old school hip hop (The stink, Beat Junkie), and rhythm & blues (Invisible, The incredible) with an experimental tip. The Incredible / The invisible is a revealing masterpiece from a trully commited and fully aknowledged artist, always searching new ways and methods of expressing creativity.

Sugahspanks rhyming snaps like hell in The Stink and Beat Junky while a more lyrical aproach can be found in tunes like No Roof and Golden Chain. As her music encompasses various genres she expresses interest in, the lyrics adress social realism and personal experiences often with a bitter sence of humour as interpreted by a skillfull vocalist, often described by the press as a Chameleon, refering to her wide field of vocal abilities beetween genres and singing dynamics. Sugaspank started working with producer Blend aka Mishkin for his latest album Misplaced (cab101) in the end of 2006, later released on their newly established record label Cast-a-blast.

Soon after Misplaced was out, even trees knew they had to join forces in order to create a new record featuring Sugahspanks songs with Blend on the production, mainly because of a high chemistry rising among them, both in songwriting and personal level. All recordings and mixes took place between November 2007 and August 2008 at their appartment at Pireaus with most of the vocals recorded while Sugahspank was in bed, recovering from a seveire back injury. Production-wise the tools that Blend used are limited and everything serves its purpose to the max. Analog recording sources, fat mpc made beats, loads of vinyls and vintage synths have most of the action here.

Most of the beats are raw and funky with Blends trademark elements in production. Massive bass lines and sticky fat drums acompanied by creative sampling, vinyl cuts and dub alike teqniques often embodied with the talents of guests musicians, guitarists: Kostas Nikolopoulos of 60s legendary band The Charms and Jason of Low Gravity, bassist: Kostis Vichos, pianist: Yiannis Dimitriadis (a long time partner and a usual at blends den) and highlitghed with the participation of Greeces king of human beatbox: Bitman.

Tunes like Blush? and Business creep have already been featured in playlists and dj sets by the likes of Simon Harrison (Basic soul), dj Nova, Funkusion, Dom Servini (Straight no chaser) and the Cast-a-blast crew as taken from the Backslam Extravaganza compilation by Palov and Mishkin while other tracks had a great audience responce as played live with the cast-a-blast soundsystem (Kill the bitch you got in ya, Beat junky). Blush? has also licenced by Spanish label Lovemonk for their new compilation while a few other sliped out of cast-a-blasts limited label sampler and looped their way into fans ipods...haunting the machines ever since. (Invisible, Lost that lovin feeling).

In our humble opinion, The Incredible / The Invisible has nothing in common with your average female Soul Singer album. Sugahspank! is not only armed with a talent in songwriting and singing, she also knows how to use these powers in order to deliver probably the sickest album coming out of south Europe in the hip hop/soul genre as we speak.
