With his first solo studio album OLIVER WEERS releases what is easily the best Danish hard rock album since the heydays of Pretty Maids, Skagarack and Royal Hunt.
The debut was recorded at Medley Studios Copenhagen (The Cardigans, Radiohead, Prince, Roxette, D-A-D, Kent, Izzy Stradlin, Mike Tramp/White Lion a.o.) in co-operation with the two living legends Tommy Aldridge (ex. Whitesnake, Ozzy Osbourne a.o.) and bassist Marco Mendoza (ex. Whitesnake, Thin Lizzy a.o.), the leader of the whole project was well-reputed guitarist and producer Søren Andersen, that among others is known for his production of local artists Baal, Johnny Madsen and Kira & The Kindred Spirits.
”Get Ready” is a hard-boiled rock album created in co-operation with OLIVER WEERS and Søren Andersen. The 12 tracks span from soft ballades to real heavy rock songs. On the album you find two cover tunes of which one is Queens “The Show Must Go On” – the song that OLIVER WEERS finished the “X Factor” final with and made him subject around all Danish dinner tables.
“The song is recorded for all the fans that supported me during the “X Factor” shows. I received a vast number of requests around a recording of the song and now I return the big interest people showed in me by doing it.” The other cover song is a more unexpected and unconventional choice, Björks “Army Of Me”: “I desired a Nordic angle to the album and wanted to try with a song that doesn’t originate from the rock world.”
But don’t think this is only a studio project. OLIVER WEERS has gathered a live band of very competent Danish musicians (incl. bassist Claus Langeskov from White Lion) that is currently rehearsing for a big autumn- and winter tour.
