“They are without doubt one going to be absolutely huge!” – NME.com

"Twin Atlantic offer up a full, earthy yet lusciously melodic assembly of jagged guitar stabs and stadium-sized vocal hooks" Kerrang!

UK rock has found a brave new voice and it is distinctly Scottish.

Through a combination of ridiculously melodic and poetic songwriting, Twin Atlantic showcase an ambition, determination and maturity far greater than their young years should allow. With riffs and choruses that will stick in your head for an age, they can play hard and fast and loud like the best of them, then instantly flip the switch and have a packed venue waving lighters to their softer side. And they're not just another growly band with a few good beards and a poster boy singer.

Twin Atlantic formed in March of 2007 in the fantastically bleak city of Glasgow, Scotland. They quickly built up a strong reputation both locally and nationally from tour support slots with Circa Survive and mewithoutyou shortly after recording their self-released debut EP, A Guidance From Colour, at Long Wave Studio in Cardiff with producer Romesh Dodangoda (Bullet For My Valentine, Funeral For A Friend, Kids In Glass Houses).

Building on support from publications such as Kerrang! and NME, the band's profile was boosted enough for them to land an array of high-profile support slots, most notably being personally chosen by Jimmy Chamberlin to support Smashing Pumpkins at Glasgow's 8,000-capacity SECC Arena in early February. Over the following months, Twin Atlantic’s touring resume began to read like a Who’s Who of Rock, as they supported American acts such as The Matches, Finch, Say Anything, and Thrice on their respective UK tours, as well as Biffy Clyro, Funeral for a Friend, Oceansize, and Lostprophets to name but a few. Over the summer months, Twin Atlantic also played numerous festivals, the highlight being a show-stopping performance at Scotland’s T In The Park.

The band embarked upon their first set of headline dates across the UK in September of 2008 in support of their single “What Is Light? Where is Laughter?” Fall also saw the band take to the road as the main support slot for The Subways on their full UK tour. This was such a success that Twin Atlantic were invited to appear on the European leg of the tour, and the band made their first live appearances on the Continent. This was followed up by another headline run through the UK, wrapping up in early December.

The end of the year brought mentions on many ‘Best Of’ lists, including accolades from Scotland’s News Of The World and Daily Mail as the #1 band to watch in 2009.

After holing up in their rehearsal studio in January and February to work on new material, the band is heading out on another set of headline dates across the UK, including a sold-out hometown show at the 900-capacity Queen Margaret Union on March 7th. This will be followed up by their first trip across the ocean of their namesake to the U.S., to appear at the annual South by Southwest Music Festival in Austin, TX.

With their electrifying live performances and king-sized choruses, look for Twin Atlantic to win over new audiences around the world in 2009.
