The Danish band Powderhog play garage-rock with a nerve so striking that the genre has been updated with the energy and soul the new millennium demands of rockmusic today.
With a classical line-up Powderhog deliver the music without the use of samples or other whims of fashion, just the sound of two guitars, bass, drums, a intense Hammond-organ and a committed vocal. A quartet of pure, rocking energy.
On Powderhog’s Myspace-profile, the band’s live-recordings and demosongs have been played more than 19.000 times, and the band has gained both a national – and international fanbase.
Powderhog have spend a longer period of time in Jacob Hansen’s Studio (Volbeat, Rob Rock, Mercenary, ao), and the result says it all. A direct in-your-face rockrecord that contains the audacity and dynamics a thorough international rockrelease must have.
Instead of using the common ”layer” recording method, the band has recorded each track separately, which has given the album the energy and the sound that fits the musical expression of Powderhog.
The year 2007 offers a lot of gigs, and the band will head for a 3 week tour in USA, where they will perform on the entire east coast. Among other places, they will visit Germany and a comprehensive tour in Denmark in the fall, is in the making.
Currently the band has finished shooting their first music video for the single “A Thousand Ways Out Of Here?”, which has been shot a various exciting locations. Some footage from the shoot can be viewed on their Myspace-Profile.
The selftitled album will be released 29/05/07 in Scandinavia.
Europe and other areas are in the making, but until, the album can be bought directly from Trechoma Records’ website.
