The group travels under the name “Guitar Gangsters & Cadillac Blood”. It’s been said of Cadillac Blood, the frontman of the group, that he was found out in the desert in his Cadillac with seven gaping bullet holes in his body and blood all over the place. The lady who found him panicked and went into town to get the sheriff. When the sheriff arrived at the scene, the body and car were gone. He and three other obscure men who have to hide from their past and from the law, now travel the outskirts of the desert in the US, roaming from town to town, fuelled by revenge. Together “Guitar Gangsters & Cadillac Blood” take the stage in every town they stop by, from the stage Cadillac Blood hopes to spot the deadman that shot him and left him for dead in the desert. As they go from town to town they eventually end up in “the 10 House City”, a small town were few people live. Most of these people gather at a place simply called “The Bar” were they drink and tell their tales. The lyrics of 7 songs on “Guitar Gangsters & Cadillac Blood”, focus on the people in “The Bar” and what Cadillac Blood learns from them by observing them. On “Guitar Gangsters & Cadillac Blood” the lyrics usually are written from the point of view of the characters found in “The 10 House City”. A future Volbeat-album will focus more on the story of Cadillac Blood and the events that lead to him getting shot in the desert.. A cover song of Hank Williams’ "I'm so lonesome I could cry", which also Elvis sang, is featured on the record. There’s a guest vocalist on the song "Mary Ann's place", which continues the story of "Danny & Lucy", "Fire song" and “Mr and Mrs Ness" from the old albums. Who the guest singer is, will be revealed later. Also on present this record is a cover song of Social Distortions’ "Making Believe" (originally a Kitty Wells song, but the Volbeat-version is inspired on the one recorded by Social Distortion). Michael Poulsen: “These are without a doubt the strongest songs we have ever wrote, you can hear all our inspirations from different kind of music such as Punk Rock, Heavy Rock, Country, Metal, Rock´N´Roll, Pop Rock, Blues, Gospel, Garage and bla bla bla :-)”.
