First Word Records are proud to present the debut album from one of the UK´s most talented new producers, kidkanevil. After the success of the debut single "Kranium Rock" and last year's party-rocking "Fire" 12", "Problems & Solutions" is the natural progression for beanie-hatted beat-maker.
Featuring guest appearances from some of the world's most talented vocalists, including Lateef (Quannum Projects, DJ Shadow), Andreya Triana (Flying Lotus), Yarah Bravo (One Self), Chris James (Stateless), Double D Dagger and Jehst (Lowlife) kidkanevil has created a rare thing – a proper album (available on vinyl too!) that flows from start to finish. The influences DJ Shadow, Bonobo, RJD2, J Dilla, or Timbaland are evident, but all the tracks have a distinctive sound that is unmistakably kidkanevil. From the pounding instrumental opener "The Profound Truth" to the fragility of "The Hours" and the dancefloor fireworks of "5th Gear" this is an album that has quality stamped all over it.
